Peer-to-peer (P2P) computing is at present attracting huge, immense public recognition, spurred via the recognition of file-sharing structures akin to Napster, Gnutella, and Morpheus. In P2P structures a really huge variety of independent computing nodes, the friends, depend on one another for companies. P2P networks are rising as a brand new disbursed computing paradigm as a result of their strength to harness the computing energy of the hosts composing the community, and since they make their underutilized assets to be had to every other.

This booklet brings jointly 3 particularly commissioned invited articles, an advent, and revised types of the papers offered on the 1st overseas Workshop on brokers and Peer-to-Peer Computing, AP2PC 2002, held in Bologna, Italy in July 2002. The ebook is prepared into topical sections on peer-to-peer companies, discovery and supply of reliable prone, and seek and cooperation in peer-to-peer agent systems.

Our recent work has addressed service location, flexible caching, and Web structure. 1 Comparison with P2P We claim that P2P is an architecture style or pattern, rather than a specific technology [7]. Just as the well-known layered architecture style is not restricted to operating systems or applications, so is not P2P restricted to systems or to applications. In fact, there is a lot to be gained by applying a P2P architecture at a higher level than in traditional P2P approaches. Conventional P2P approaches are limited in two major ways, which restrict their applicability to information systems.

2 Conceptual Architecture The proposed architecture we describe is based on peer and services (left part of Fig. 1). A peer is a software composed of data and services. A service is a piece of code coupled with its formal description (see Sect. 1 for more details). Applications are an aggregate of peers that may need to request services from other peers. Programmers do not know in advance the description of available services. Executing entities wishing to invoke a service do not search for available services.

The main module is a matchmaker that decides which policy packages to send to each user, matching user’s location and preferences with shop information. The server has a postbox for each user, and dispatches corresponding information within the area, in which users exist, to the users’ postboxes. Users’ VPC-Ps receives policy packages and evaluate them. Figure 8 shows the diagram of exchange of information among peers. Information is exchanged among peers through a “policy get” community. A “policy get” community that has a “policy getter” role exchanges information among the peers and to obtain information from the server, and is always activated on the PDA terminals.
